ABOUT

A hand-drawn reimagining set against cherry blossoms and Edo-era shrines. Manyuu Hikenchou follows a wandering heroine whose secret technique lets her coax , or curse, the bosom of anyone she touches, and the story blossoms from there.

This project is currently in pre-production. We’re laying down the art pipeline, voice cast, and the first chapter’s script. Follow along on Patreon for sketches, early scenes, and milestone updates as they land.

Chibusa (Chifusa) Manyuu

Middle daughter of Lord Kazehara · aspiring swordswoman

Refused the marriage path her sisters embraced and chose the blade instead. Carries herself like a samurai-in-progress: blunt, proud, loyal to the bone once she decides you've earned it. Sarcastic and a touch theatrical when she's comfortable; lethally focused when she isn't. Her sword is taller than is strictly practical. She's working on it.

Momji 'Kaede'

Personal attendant · loyal companion

Loyal to the point of suffering for it. Has been Aya's attendant since they were both small and treats that bond as the central fact of her life. Behind the deference, she's playful, even teasing in private, and a remarkably skilled biwa player.

Aya

Daughter of Lord and Lady Futami

Soft-spoken, principled, and braver than her sheltered upbringing suggests. Raised under strict parental supervision. When the safer paths run out, she will take the dangerous one.

Eimi

Youngest daughter of Lord Kazehara · social schemer

Flirtatious, catty, and not above weaponizing her own appearance for whatever she wants. Confident enough on the outside, insecure enough on the inside that any compliment paid to one of her sisters is logged as a personal grievance.

Harumi

Eldest daughter of Lord Kazehara · trained in koto and propriety

The most 'proper' of the three sisters: disciplined, well-read, traditionally accomplished. Treats femininity as a craft and is faintly horrified that one of her sisters has chosen the sword. Her judgments come quickly and rarely soften, but underneath the prim exterior is a young woman terrified of being measured against either of her siblings and found wanting.

Munehime

Wife of Lord Kazehara · mother of three

Charming in public, quietly indulgent in private. Maintains household order through smiles and gentle insistence. She wants the best matches for her daughters and the comfortable life she's built for herself, in roughly that order. Both desires sometimes run ahead of her better judgment. Has a sweet tooth large enough to constitute a personality trait.

KAGEFUSA MANYUU

Kagefusa Manyuu

Antagonist · clan enforcer

Kagefusa is the clan's blade, sent to retrieve Chifusa and the scroll. Her own technique steals what Chifusa's gives, and she does not believe in mercy.
